Slide Project(or) is an experiment in taking images out of the digital realm and revisiting the glory of analogue projections in a new show by WeAreYes productions/ artists Martin Robinson and Emma Turpin. Through the intervention with images submitted from around the globe potential new narratives emerge from pre-existing photographs. A printed zine will accompany the installation of multiple slide projectors in the appropriate non-gallery environment of the Bernard Shaw Pub.
Slide projector is an exhibition born out of a collaboration between two London based artists, Martin Robinson and Emma Turpin. With backgrounds in sculpture, photography and printmaking they met at Central Saint Martins last year and are currently working on diverse projects under the moniker WeAreYes. Martin and Emma have individually exhibited broadly in the UK, Ireland and Internationally.Their work together is multifarious, incorporating various aspects of their professional practices and spans projects from zines, installations, photography and now an in-depth exploration of analogue slide projections.
