OPEN Programme
***Submissions are now closed***
OPEN Call for Events and Exhibitions
The OPEN Programme offers artists, photographers, curators and organisations the chance to put forward events within or outside the festival theme, programmed within County Dublin during the month of July. We welcome submissions of exhibitions, installations, performances, films, and others, relating to Photography & Contemporary Image Culture.
All participants will be featured in the Festival Catalogue and on the PhotoIreland website, and will receive festival catalogues to distribute during the event.
Last year, over 40 projects were part of the OPEN programme, then called OFF programme. These photographers, galleries, and studios, benefited from the publicity received via our marketing in print, radio, television, online and in the social media. The OPEN Programme is a great opportunity to promote personal and collective projects, and the ideal arena to experiment with exhibition making.

FAQ
My event starts or ends before or after July, can I still apply?
Yes, as long as the exhibition lasts for at least 5 days in July, you can still apply. You should consult with us otherwise before submitting.
I don't have all the final images for the show ready, what should I submit?
We need the project images both to consider the application and to illustrate your show on the marketing materials (catalogue and web site). You need to submit at least 5 images to be considered eligible.
I am having trouble finding an ideal venue, can you help?
Yes, let us know and we will do our best to help you. You could also consider joining forces with other photographers for a group show.
Do I have to work with the venues you list, or could I find my own elsewhere?
You are more than welcome to find a venue that suits you better. The list above is purely offered as a quick reference. Please, note that you do not need our aproval to contact a venue, we do not have an agreement with any venue or have venues on hold, and we do not cover any venue costs.
We have various shows of different work happening in one venue at the same time, do we need to submit one application per show?
Yes, you do, as they will be listed as individual exhibitions. Contact us if in doubt.
